In the summer of 2009 I left Italy after four months of living with my long-term girlfriend, we met at Rangitoto College during here overseas exchange. We broke up shortly after and it was devastating to me as a young man. To help heal myself I wrote Off the Plane. It's about love, life, friends and the bonding of all humanity through being on this bizarre and beautiful ride together
The lyrics, structure and even some of the original recordings haven't changed since then but my journey as a mix engineer and producer has, and the song has become how I envisioned it all those years ago.
I'm so excited that after a decade it will finally be travelling around the world, and for every fan to stop asking me when it will be released! Enjoy
lyrics
I wonder if we're all insane
Because the way that I feel tends to lean that way
And I'm never afraid to admit the to truth that I have no idea about what to do
And every single second is a wash in time with everyone screaming “The is my life!”
We're bonded and tied to comprehend this time as a passenger on the greatest of rides
Woah Oh
Woah Oh
And I'm never getting off the plane
Woah Oh
Woah Oh
Cause there's more and more to do these day
Woah Oh
Woah Oh
And I'm never getting off the plane
Woah Oh
Woah Oh
Cause there's more and more to do these day
And that's when it came to me I'm a little ball of pain inside your handkerchief
She asked me not to worry and I said that I would try
But she knows I don't want to live without her by my side
It sounds so bleak without any end
But don't you worry I've got love from my friends
And I'm happy with that, it's all we need
And I'll never forget the joy that you gave to me

There’s been talk of an 80s revival of one sort or another since long before the 80s even came to an end.
